Raj M. Nichani, Esq., the founder and president of The RMN Agency, is passionate about helping attorneys and law firms find the right fit for each other. Prior to forming The RMN Agency, he was a vice president for two well-known legal recruiting firms. Raj is responsible for placing attorneys with law firms and corporations in a variety of national markets including Atlanta, New York City, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston.

After graduating from law school in 2000, Raj practiced as a litigator with Kelley Drye & Warren, LLP in New York City. But, it was the legal job search experience that had Raj relocating from New York back to Atlanta, where he’d received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University, that changed his perspective on legal recruiting.

Raj earned his Juris Doctor from the Syracuse University College of Law with cum laude honors, where he was Associate Editor of the Syracuse Law Review and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Technology. He wanted a change after the events of 9/11, so he decided to return to Atlanta where he was hired as a securities litigator at Sutherland. That recruiter engaged in practices that could have derailed Raj’s chances for a good placement had luck and a good reputation not been in his favor. But, it is also the basis for the ethical practices in legal placement that Raj and RMN follow today.

Raj moved to Rogers & Hardin LLP, which was a better recruiting experience that actually led to his decision to transition into legal recruiting. That’s because Raj realized that while he liked practicing law and greatly respected lawyers that do, he didn’t love practicing law. And it was not until recently that he realized that he loved what he did, which was placing lawyers in their ideal positions.

Raj is also as committed to the legal and charitable communities as he is to legal recruiting. He is a member of both the New York and Georgia Bars, and is a past president of both the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association (GAPABA) and the South Asian Bar Association of Georgia (SABA-GA).
