Our client, an international law firm, is seeking an associate for their Business Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. The position will be based in our Atlanta office. Ideal candidates should have at least 3-5 years of prior associate-level experience in general litigation, solid analytical and drafting skills, the ability to handle routine hearings and depositions, and experience organizing and managing discovery. The ideal candidate will possess the following: Strong writing and oral communication skills, with excellent academic credentials; Desire to work in a small, fast-paced environment, and an ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed; Knowledge of federal and state court practice, and experience preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and other routine court filings; and Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and significant case management experience. Essential Functions Candidates for Associate positions must be able to provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys. Associates are routinely required to: Provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis in pleadings, memoranda, and other written documents; Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and other case documents; Prepare for and attend hearings throughout Georgia; Manage matters from commencement to final resolution; and competently and professionally communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and supervising attorneys. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure; Strong organizational and case management skills; Familiarity with and ability to prepare basic and complex litigation documents; Familiarity with e-discovery, review software, and management of discovery/document production; Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practices; Requirements Juris Doctor.
